Gluing sink to granite countertop

Advanced adhesives specifically for granite counter tops are the choice here. While tile caulking seals the seams where tile, marble or granite meet the upper edges of the sink , using an adhesive at the underside of the countertop ensures a proper installation. Even the largest and heaviest pieces of granite can move with enough force, so all should be glued down. When choosing a countertop surface, remember while granite is beautiful and in high deman it is more expensive ($45-$1per sq foot) and requires more maintenance than laminate surfaces.


Proper sink installation is important to keep laminate looking great. Also be sure the right type of glue is used for applying laminate to MDF to make a countertop. A waterproof PVA or Contact Adhesive is recommended to keep edges sealed tight.
