I taped all around the counter , put plastic around the cabinets, and cleaned and scuffed up the countertop. On Saturday, I applied two coats of Step 1. On Sunday, I applied two coats of Step and sanded. On Monday, I applied two coats of clear coat. By Monday evening, I had a brand new countertop that looked absolutely amazing.

Our epoxy is used for both the seal coat and the flood coat. It is the same product that is applied to the surface with a paint brush. We had the same problem with the protective top coat and stopped using it.


We now throw it out and use Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish water based spray instead. It dries quickly and actually dries clear.
