A notable attraction in the city is the former granite quarry, which has been transformed into a park with several waterfalls. The Granite Jaxx are an amateur baseball team made up of local players from. I stop here regularly to enjoy the beauty of the red granite and the waterfalls.

There are places to eat or buy a snack nearby, and I like to bring the food to the park and sit and watch the waterfall and the ducks and other birds. This was a first time visit for myself, my brother and our two lovely ladies. Near the falls is a small parking lot with some historical signs.

Another Granite City Run is in the books and we had our best year yet. The rain held off (not counting a little mist) and we had more people than ever come and participate. Lots of photos will be coming.
