How to make cement countertops look like granite

This type of countertop is popular with modern or contemporary decorating. Very durable and not as expensive as some of the other materials. In this video I show how to make a concrete countertop look like natural granite or marble. I used Icoat products for the coloring and epoxy system and would highly recommend them to anyone. One of the advantages of concrete is that it is much less expensive than natural stones such as granite and marble.


While concrete is sleek and modern and growing very popular as a kitchen countertop , if you have your heart set on the look of granite , a substitute. The one material I found that was much more customizable than the other solid surfaces was concrete.

To apply the paint, lightly stamp the coated side of the sponge onto your countertop using quick, up-and-down movements. Blot the sponge randomly over the countertop surface, but avoid making sideways swipes with the sponge. Swipes leave brush-type marks in the paint that do not look like natural granite.


Stick to vertical, up-and-down stamping. Whether you love or hate the worn in look , you should know how best to care for your counters. It really does look like natural mineral deposits on your faux marble! You can buy it at Hobby Lobby or online.

I am looking at the different colored sprays so that I can make the countertops look like marble or granite. Now the DIY concrete countertops will dry overnight and they will be ready for the sealer! I’d never though to paint countertops , but you make this option look good. Did u add any texturing or other.
